Hazelnut Oil

– INCI Name: CORYLUS AVELLANA NUT OIL

– Origin: Vegetable

The hazelnut seed oil comes from the Corylus avellana, a tree native to Europe and Asia. It is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the hazelnut tree, which is a rich source of essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins. It is highly valued in cosmetics for its nourishing and beneficial properties for the skin.

Functions of Hazelnut Oil in Topical Use:

1. Moisturising and nourishing: Restores the skin’s lipid barrier and moisturises the skin without leaving a greasy feeling.

2. Antioxidant: Protects the skin from premature ageing thanks to its vitamin E content.

3. Anti-inflammatory: Soothes irritated or inflamed skin, being useful for conditions such as acne.

4. Cellular regenerator: Promotes skin repair and improves scars and stretch marks.

5. Balances sebum: Does not clog pores and helps control oil production in the skin.

6. Astringent: Tones the skin and reduces pore size.

Hazelnut oil is used in moisturisers, serums, facial oils, masks, hair care products and treatments for oily or acne-prone skin. It is especially valuable in anti-ageing products, as well as those intended to smooth the skin and reduce scarring.
